WrestleMania Peacock Viewing Numbers Up By Over 25%
WrestleMania 39 was filled with unforgettable moments and amazing matches, which started on WrestleMania Saturday itself. WrestleMania 39 took place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California and it defied the ridiculous expectations fans had for the Premium Live Event.
WrestleMania Sunday ended with Roman Reigns retaining his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes in the main event. The match also ended up becoming a blockbuster as expected. That said, many fans felt the match was overbooked.
According to PWInsider, the live viewership for WrestleMania 39 on Peacock saw a spike of 29% in hours viewed and 32% in live viewing from last year. Naturally, this did not surprise fans whatsoever.
It was further added that it was also the highest weekend usage in the history of the streaming platform, as Wrestlemania 39 had the most hours watched of any live event on Peacock, barring the Super Bowl.
WrestleMania 39 will go down in history as the company’s most successful event and has truly set the standard for all the Premium Live Events to come. It remains to be seen whether WWE will end up surpassing their current record with WrestleMania 40 next year.
