Fans were curious to what the reason would be for why Cody Rhodes was brutally attacked by Brock Lesnar on Monday Night RAW. On Friday Night SmackDown, we were given a storyline reason to why Lesnar took out The American Nightmare.
Wade Barrett mentioned on commentary that the reason Lesnar attacked Cody was frustration due to kicking off WrestleMania Sunday. This is an interesting note, because in storyline Lesnar has been someone who most of the time either starts or finishes a show one way or another.
Rumors suggest that the two will square off at WWE Backlash, which is set to take place on May 6, 2023, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. With Roman Reigns not appearing at the event, it could be an opportunity for Brock and Cody to main event the premium live event.
We will have to wait and see if we get a more in depth explanation from Lesnar in the future.
