Bret Hart Condemns Deathmatches, Uses Jon Moxley As An Example As Matches You Should Turn Off

Bret Hart isn’t happy with the current state of professional wrestling, with AEW’s Jon Moxley being used as an example.

It is safe to say deathmatches in wrestling are polarizing amongst the fanbase. While AEW have been trying to do things that WWE don’t, as a true alternative should, many are not happy with the gruesome nature of deathmatches, with Jon Moxley vs Hangman Page rubbing many fans the wrong way and it appears they are not alone.

While speaking with HN Live, Bret Hart was asked about the current state of wrestling. Bret Hart would condemn deathmatches and told fans to turn those matches off, using Jon Moxley as an example.

“AEW has kind of gone in a bad direction, I think, with all the violence and gore. I watched some episodes. You know, I watched Marta Hart do her big press conference for AEW here in Calgary. I’m watching AEW, and I’m watching, who used to be Dean Ambrose, sticking a fork in somebody’s head for like five minutes with a close up on TV.

This isn’t wrestling either. I would recommend turning all that off. I don’t watch that stuff anymore. It’s not very good. Wrestling is going in some bad directions because people don’t know what wrestling is or wrestling was.”

Many fans will agree with Bret about these type of matches, but many fans are perfectly ok with Deathmatches.
