Shawn Spears of AEW Will Not Wrestle For Much Longer, But He Hopes To Win Gold In A Major Company

Shawn Spears was defeated by Jack “Jungle Boy” Perry on last week’s episode of “AEW Rampage,” his first match since rejoining All Elite Wrestling in October after a lengthy break from television. After appearing in only six contests for Tony Khan’s promotion in the previous 12 months, the 42-year-old has now delivered a significant update on the future of his in-ring career.

The 42-year-old has now provided a significant update regarding the future of his in-ring career after performing in only six matches for Tony Khan’s promotion within the last 12 months. 

“I don’t want to do it much longer,”

“Not because I’m being forced out or anything like that. Health-wise, I’m in very good shape.”

Despite wrestling for over 21 years, Spears has yet to win a championship in any major company. The Canadian-born wrestler is working hard to change that aspect of his career, and he now has an added incentive. Spears stated that his favorite photo of all time is one of the late Brodie Lee holding the AEW TNT Championship beside his two boys. He enjoys it because he believes the look on Lee’s face represents him realizing it was a great time. The former member of The Pinnacle confessed that he is envious of that specific photo since Lee is having such a wonderful time with his children. After winning, Spears stated that he hopes to share the same experience with his son. Spears and his wife Cassie Lee (a.k.a. Peyton Royce in WWE) welcomed their first kid, Austin Jay Arneill, earlier this year.
