STARDOM Viewed Naomi As Too Expensive To Sign
STARDOM decided against signing Naomi. (Trinity Fatu)
Trinity has been out of the wrestling ring for almost a year now after walking out of WWE last May. She would do so along with Mercedes Mone, who has made a name for herself now in Japan, wrestling at STARDOM and NJPW shows recently.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that there was also interest from NJPW to bring in Trinity Fatu. STARDOM would decide against it after deciding Trinity was too expensive to sign along with Mercedes Mone.
The hard part about a longer commitment is that Bushiroad’s wrestling division, even though Stardom has grown greatly, has overall taken a major financial hit because of New Japan’s declines related to the pandemic, even with New Japan World up. Because of that, the wrestling division is under pressure to keep spending down. An example is that they were told they could bring in Trinity Fatu, but it was felt it would cost too much for the return and thus far hadn’t made that deal. Mone said later that her contract wasn’t expiring with this show which would indicate they’ve reached an agreement to continue and also said she wants to make Japan her new home.
WON
Trinity was recently backstage at Ring Of Honor Supercard Of Honor watching Athena’s ROH Women’s Title defense. We will have to wait and see where Trinity will sign, but for now it appears she will not be joining Mone in Japan.
