WWE have been planning Grimes’ callup for quite some time.
Grimes was a success story in NXT and it worked out very well for him. However, he did not manage to capture major NXT gold. Now, he is a member of the SmackDown roster after the WWE Draft, with Triple H reportedly quite high on the star.
Fightful Select now reports WWE have been planning Grimes’ callup for almost half a year.
WWE officials have long liked Cameron Grimes, who debuted on Smackdown last night. He’s been planned for a call up for over five months.

Grimes is set to go one on one with free agent Baron Corbin on next week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown. We will have to wait and see if Grimes can capture the victory in his main roster debut.
