The main event of Backlash was Brock Lesnar vs Cody Rhodes in a bloody and brutal encounter, with Cody outsmarting The Beast off a Kimura Lock turned pinfall.
However, many fans felt like Bad Bunny vs Damian Priest, which was an epic contest for the Puerto Rico crowd to take in, should have main evented the show.
Fightful Select now reports that WWE considered putting the Street Fight in the main event of the show.
There were discussions of Bad Bunny and Damian Priest headlining the show instead.

Of course, this would not end up being the case, with WWE advertising a double main event for the PLE.
