Tony Khan Says WWE’s Sale Is A Positive For The Wrestling Business In Many Ways, Confirms He Was Interested In Purchasing The Company
Tony Khan states that WWE’s sale benefits the wrestling business in many ways.
Despite rumors suggesting the Khan family were interested in purchasing WWE earlier this year, Endeavor would end up being the company that would end up purchasing the number 1 promotion in professional wrestling. Endeavor intend to merge WWE with the UFC to create one 21 billion dollar company. This purchase has been credited with helping the business in many ways and it appears that AEW president Tony Khan agrees.
During an appearance on Maggie and Perloff, Tony was asked about the WWE sale and if he had any interest in purchasing the company.
“I can’t speak to that except to say that I was interested. It will also be very interesting to see what happens with that sale. Certainly, in many ways, it’s a big positive to the pro wrestling business and I think the huge attendance numbers and TV and streaming numbers for pro wrestling and the great sales for AEW on pay-per-view and all the big merchandising numbers show that pro wrestling is really back as an industry in many major ways in 2023 and AEW is a big part of the conversation. That’s all been really positive for us,”

We will have to wait and see how this story will continue to develop but it seems that many in the industry believe the Endeavor purchase of WWE is a good thing.
