“Superstar” Billy Graham Inspired Vince McMahon To Call All WWE Talent Superstars
The origin of how WWE address their talent as superstars has been revealed.
Last night, we tragically lost “Superstar” Billy Graham as he passed away peacefully. There has been an outpouring of grief and memories from the wrestling industry and now Paul Heyman has revealed an interesting tale about the late WWE legend.
Heyman explained that Vince McMahon decided to use the phrase WWE superstar after Graham’s run in the promotion.
“Before Billy Graham, performers in WWWF / WWF/ WWE were known as professional wrestlers. After Billy Graham left his mark, Vincent Kennedy McMahon decided everyone would be a WWE Superstar. A most heartfelt RIP to the man of the hour, the man with the power, too sweet to be sour!”
