Exclusive: Who Is Responsible For Writing “Four Pillars” Storyline For AEW World Championship

AEW’s 2023 Double or Nothing PPV takes place this Sunday May 28th from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and will be headlined by a Four-way Match for the AEW World Championship, as MJF defends his title against Darby Allin, Sammy Guevara, and “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry.

The build for the Double or Nothing “Four Pillars” Main Event World Championship Match has been received well, and has been featured as one of the prominent storylines on AEW television for the last couple of months. An interesting thing to note, is who has been the driving force creatively as the writer for the entire program.

While speaking with sources inside AEW regarding the upcoming Double or Nothing PPV this weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada one of the topics discussed was the “Four Pillars” Match for the AEW World Championship. Sources relayed to me that the creative person responsible for writing the storyline for the entire “Four Pillars” World Championship program has been none other than AEW World Champion MJF.

MJF enters this weekend as the AEW World Champion, a long way from where he was last year at Double or Nothing, if you remember, as a lot of controversy surrounded him after reports came out that he had no-showed the Double or Nothing Fan Fest prior to his match with Wardlow at the PPV, leaving many to question his AEW future. This led to him being removed from AEW TV and taken off the road following his promo on Dynamite after the PPV, until his surprise return at All Out in September.

The topic of his contract and AEW has once again come up following his promo on last night’s “go-home” episode of Dynamite, when MJF once again teased a potential departure. MJF stated, “To be honest, I’m kinda bored around here. I’m kinda sick of this place. I am sick of the lack of competition, I am sick of the lack of competency, and most of all, I am sick of the AEW fans not showing me the respect I so greatly deserve.” But to go even further, MJF added, “Tony Khan also knows that Daddy’s contract is coming up..”
