NJPW Issue Statement On Mercedes Mone’s Injury
At NJPW Resurgence, Mercedes Mone suffered a broken ankle during her match with Willow Nightingale. The injury would cause a huge change, as Mercedes was set to go over Willow at the event and become the first NJPW Strong Women’s Champion.
NJPW have now released a statement on the injury, wishing Mercedes the best in her recovery.
“During her match with Willow Nightingale in the main event of Resurgence May 21, Mercedes Moné sustained an injury to her right ankle. Moné underwent a thorough appraisal of her injury immediately after her match and began treatment. New Japan Pro-Wrestling joins fans in wishing Moné a full and fast recovery.”

Mercedes could be out with the injury for up to six months, but could be back sooner than that depending how her rehab goes.
