Adam Cole Defeats Chris Jericho Via TKO At AEW Double Or Nothing
Chris Jericho and Adam Cole finally battled in an Unsanctioned match at AEW Double Or Nothing.
With Sabu as enforcer for the match, Adam Cole was accompanied by the legend and Roderick Strong, coming to the ring with steel chairs to combat the JAS. This would lead to a chair off, with Sabu getting the advantage. This would lead to Sabu coming off the top rope, driving Daddy Magic and Angelo Parker through a table. After this, Strong and Sabu would drive the JAS to the back, making the match one on one.
The two men would start brawling immediately, and began to trade spots with weapons. Jericho would eventually go for a kendo stick, which brought out Britt Baker who wailed on Chris Jericho, then Saraya, before Britt chased The Outcasts’ leader to the back.
The pair would continue to battle it out until Cole chained himself to Jericho and began to hit signature moves on Jericho, but Chris would not give up that easily. However, after a choking spot with the chain, Cole would capture control of the match, hitting Jericho with two Booms, with the second one having the chain wrapped around his knee. Rather than pin Jericho, he began to ground and pound The Ocho until Aubrey Edwards stepped in, with Cole falling back off Jericho in a cathartic moment.
