Former WWE Women’s & TNA/IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts World Champion Mickie James Inducted To Cauliflower Alley Club
Mickie James has won the nomination for the 2023 Women’s Wrestling Award.
The Cauliflower Alley Club is pleased to announce that Mickie James has been selected as the 2023 Women’s Wrestling Award honoree. Known for her captivating in-ring style and charismatic personality, James has made a significant impact in the world of professional wrestling.
Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Mickie James discovered her passion for wrestling at a young age. She began her journey by training in various wrestling schools and made her professional debut in 1999. Her early years in the industry saw her both valet and wrestle in numerous independent promotions, honing her skills and building her reputation as a rising star.
Mickie James caught the attention of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), where she made her debut in their developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). Her unique combination of athleticism, versatility, and compelling character work quickly propelled her to the main roster of WWE.
It was during her tenure with WWE that Mickie James truly began to make her mark on the wrestling industry. Mickie James is a former 5x WWE Women’s champion, a former WWE Divas Champion, as well as being a former 5x TNA/IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion. Mickie established herself as one of the top females in WWE during her run.
Mickie also competed in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble as the IMPACT Knockouts World Champion, showcasing the IMPACT Knockouts Title as she made her entrance down to the ring.
Mickie took to her social media Twitter account to comment on the announcement.
Mickie hasn’t been seen on IMPACT television until the Go-Home to Rebellion episode of IMPACTonAXSTV on April 13th when she reluctantly relinquished the IMPACT Knockouts World Title due to a rib injury.
Prior to winning the IMPACT Knockouts Title this last time, she competed in what she dubbed “The Last Rodeo”, in which if she lost on her quest to the Knockouts Title then she would know she’s not the best and retire.
It is unknown when Mickie will return to the company.
