Mercedes Mone’s Ankle Injury Believed To Be A Severe Sprain With Fear of A Break
Mercedes Mone’s ankle injury will be assessed again once the swelling on her ankle goes down.
Back at NJPW Resurgence, Willow Nightingale and Mercedes Mone battled for the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship. However, disaster struck when Mercedes ended up hurting her ankle significantly, losing to Willow when she was originally scheduled to walk out of the match champion.
Fightful Select has now provided an update on Mone’s injury.
New Japan Pro Wrestling is under the impression that the injury that Mercedes sustained was a severe sprain without a break. However, those close to Mercedes have said that there’s definitely a sprain and the fear of a break. There was too much swelling to know for sure, and they’re hoping to have a clearer picture of where things stand after the swelling has gone down. Right now we haven’t heard of her planned for any imminent matches due to the injury. Mercedes was said to have been in a ton of pain after the match, and was helped through the back by Tamina and others.

We will have to hope that Mone will not have suffered a break in her ankle and she will be back in the ring sooner rather than later.
