TJP & Francesco Akira Regain The IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Titles At Dominion; Dan Moloney Turns On United Empire
The team of Catch 2/2 (TJP & Francesco Akira) defeated the Intergalactic Jet Setters (KUSHIDA & Kevin Knight) to become the IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Champions for the second time.
KUSHIDA and Kevin Knight defeated United Empire faction members Francesco Akira and TJP on April 27th at NJPW Road to Wrestling Dontaku to win the titles. This was their 1st defense of the IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Championship.
Bullet Club member Clark Connors confronted Akira and TJP after the match. United Empire member Dan Moloney, who was in the corner of Akira and TJP for the bout, turned on Akira and TJP and aligned himself with Clark Connors.
Moloney joined United Empire back on March 26th. Connors and Moloney are expected to be the first challengers for the new champions TJP and Francesco Akira.
