Tony Khan Was Integral To Putting The Blackjack Battle Royale Together
Tony Khan played an important part in putting the Blackjack Battle Royale together for AEW Double or Nothing.
Last week at the PPV, the International Championship was on the line as Orange Cassidy defended against 20 other AEW stars. In the end, Orange would retain his title by kicking the rope that Swerve Strickland was using to stay in the match.
Fightful Select now reports that AEW President Tony Khan played an integral role in putting the match together.
Fightful Select was told by many in and surrounding the match that Tony Khan was integral in helping lay out the match and putting things together. We’ve heard that Khan helps put together or has a hand in almost every battle royal AEW does, and that he’s developed a knack for how they work. We’ve learned that the match finish was determined the night before, and that Swerve Strickland and Orange Cassidy had some input on how it went down, as well. Several involved in the match were very happy with how it ended up. When it was announced, several didn’t know that they would be involved, and there had actually been some discussions about having a standard Casino Battle Royale, until the Blackjack battle royal was decided on.

We will have to wait and see if Battle Royale’s continue to be praised in AEW, but for now it is interesting to see that Tony Khan is more than capable of booking a Battle Royale.
