AEW Dynamite 6/7/23 Full Card Preview
AEW Dynamite is live tonight at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs, Colorado and features an explosive card. Let’s check it out, shall we?
TBS Championship: Kris Statlander vs. Anna Jay A.S. –
After Anna Jay A.S.’s incredible No Holds Barred match against Julia Hart on May 10, she is back on television to challenge the new TBS Women’s Champion, Kris Statlander, hot off of her win over last week’s challenger Nyla Rose. The J.A.S.’s resident unhinged diva may prove to be a tough opponent for Statlander, but she is made of tough material.
Texas Tornado Tag Team Match: JungleHOOK (“Jungle Boy” Jack Perry & HOOK) vs. Dralistico & Preston Vance –
Prior to the AEW World Title Four Way at Double or Nothing, Jack Perry found himself being hunted by La Faccion Ingobernable’s Rush in a hard-hitting ten minute match that bloodied the pillar. That has since continued following Perry’s loss to MJF, as LFI continued to torment him the Dynamite after and HOOK came out to save his previous tag team partner. Tonight, the pair face off against Preston Vance and the masked Dralistico, who seek to finish what they started.
We’ll hear from MJF –
MJF’s set to make an appearance and say some words, perhaps some sentences. Who knows what tonight brings? Maybe he’ll start a new feud, set up a match at Forbidden Door or All In, or maybe he’ll announce something related to Collision. Expect him to be mean to the town and to poor people.
AEW International Championship: Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Swerve Strickland –
Orange Cassidy’s International Championship reign has been an incredible workhorse performance, and has already elevated the title. He’s put himself through the rigors of AEW and worldwide talents and has even outlasted 21 men in one night to hold tight to this title. However, Swerve Strickland seeks to strip him of that responsibility and increase the Mogul Affiliate’s on credibility. Will Swerve become freshly squeezed, or will The Affiliates gain a massive acquisition?
Ricky Starks vs. Jay White (FTR & Juice Robinson are banned from ringside) –
The Absolute vs The Catalyst. Ricky’s been plagued by the Bullet Club Gold members since Juice first set his sights on him, and the Switchblade in particular has been cunning and stubborn as he stands in Ricky’s way. So badly have they been tormenting Ricky that FTR themselves have had to step in to assist. Tonight, however, Juice Robinson and FTR are both banned from ringside. Could this be Ricky’s chance to regain momentum, or does Jay White have something up his sleeve?
Tony Khan to announce main event for June 17 AEW Collision –
The main event of the inaugural AEW Collision has to be something special, right? Many a fan speculate that it could be CM Punk vs Chris Jericho, CM Punk vs Samoa Joe, or CM Punk vs Jay White. While these are tantalizing prospects, it could be anything else – I mean, Chicago might want CM Punk right out of the gate. Therefore, I think the main event has to be just as exciting and money-drawing as the idea of CM Punk starting a new rivalry; I think it has to be a returning Dan Lambert vs Jeff Jarrett, unless Tony Khan hates money. (Nah, I think it might be Joe vs Punk, or at least sets it up for the feud.)
Blackpool Combat Club (Wheeler Yuta, Jon Moxley, & Claudio Castagnoli) vs. CHAOS (Rocky Romero, Trent Beretta, & Chuckie T)
The Blackpool Combat Club are riding high as of late. After winning Double or Nothing‘s Anarchy in the Arena, the group find themselves in the main event again, continuing an NJPW storyline as Tomohiro Ishii and Kazuchika Okada’s stablemates in CHAOS sees Rocky Romero, Trent Beretta, and Chuck Taylor team up against Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, and Claudio Castagnoli. Can the combined efforts of Best Friends and Roppongi Vice overcome the threat, or will the BCC see them end the night in a way that’s not very Roppongi Nice?
AEW Dynamite airs tonight on TBS at 8/7c.
