Orange Cassidy Retains The AEW International Championship On AEW Dynamite
The International Championship match kicked off this week’s AEW Dynamite.
The match started with the usual Orange Cassidy hands in his pocket spots. As mentioned early on, this is the latest match in Orange Cassidy’s hectic title defense schedule and he showed the signs of it with a lot of medical tape on the champions body. Swerve would begin to target Orange Cassidy’s right hand. Heading into the first commercial break, Swerve and Orange ended up hitting the top rope and landed on the floor.
Coming back from the break, the two men began to exchange strikes, with Orange hitting an incredible Stundog Billionaire, before Swerve hit back. It did not take long for the mind games to come back, which lead to a near fall on a back slide for Cassidy. Swerve would then hit a Death Valley Driver on the apron. Cassidy would then rally with a series of spike DDT’s.
After another back and forth, Swerve accidentally knocked Prince Nana off the apron, which lead to an Orange Punch and Beach Break for a near fall. Cassidy would then look for a another topa DDT. Swerve would counter and hit an explosive brain buster. Swerve would then hit the House Call and the Swerve Stomp for another near fall.
In the end, the pair would both look for roll ups, with Swerve first pulling on Cassidy’s jeans. Then, Cassidy would turn it around, pulling on Swerve’s tights to get the 3 count. After the match, The Embassy would rush the ring and attack Orange Cassidy, only for Sting and Darby Allin to make the save.
