From one champion to another, Kris Statlander wants to see Willow Nightingale get her chance in the spotlight at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door later this month.
Willow Nightingale is currently the NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion after capturing the title at NJPW Resurgence. She has since defended the title on AEW TV, but still would like to feature on the upcoming Forbidden Door card.
During a recent appearance on Haus of Wrestling, Kris Statlander spoke about Willow, stating that she believes Willow deserves a spot on the Forbidden Door card.
“If there was plans, I did not hear about them. So I have no idea. I wasn’t on the first Forbidden Door, which is fine. I think it’s good to showcase people that don’t always get those bigger matches and those bigger showcases. I think it’s good to give them the opportunity. I think that it’s really a spot that Willow should be in being the New Japan STRONG Women’s Champion. I think that would be a really good spot for her to step up and defend that title against someone. I think she deserves that. She’s been here and she’s been killing it consistently. I think that’s a really good spot for her to be in. Not that I don’t deserve that spot, but I just won my title and I’ve been wrestling nonstop already. I do think she deserves that big spot though,”

We will have to wait and see what comes next for the TBS Champion, but she wants to see Willow compete on the event later this month.
