Throughout the end of 2011 and all of 2012, CM Punk held the WWE Championship for 434 days in a modern record with the title.
Now, someone has surpassed that record. Roman Reigns has now been WWE Champion longer than CM Punk, due to his new title taking lineage from both the Universal and WWE Championships. Reigns captured the WWE title in a match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38. Now, he has a new title that is both the WWE and Universal Championship.
We will have to wait and see how much longer Reigns remains WWE Champion but for now, he has now surpassed one of the longest WWE title reigns in recent memory.
