Adam Cole And MJF Wrestle To A Time Limit Draw On AEW Dynamite
On AEW Dynamite, MJF took on Adam Cole in a World Title Eliminator match.
Cole was the clear babyface and crowd favorite from the opening bell, with MJF targeting the arm of Cole to setup his Salt Of The Earth armbar, while Cole would bust MJF open with a vicious superkick at one point.
The pair would put on a clinic of counter wrestling, with near falls coming off counters to each others signature moves. MJF would then hit a tombstone piledriver on the apron to Cole.
The pair would continue their counter wrestling after the break, with more fun sequences that lead to more near falls. MJF would finally lock in the Salt In The Earth armbar, only for it to end up with Cole countering out of the move. These counters would continue down the final stretch of the match. MJF would hit a huge elbow drop on Cole through a table on the outside, with MJF attempting to win the match by count out. Cole would be able to make it back into the ring however, beating the count, keeping himself in the match.
Soon after, the ref would be knocked down and MJF would throw the AEW World Title to Cole, with the ref remaining blind to what was happening. Cole would hit MJF over the head with the AEW world title, hitting The Boom on MJF for the nearest fall of the matchup.
Eventually, Cole would have the match won off a Panama City Sunrise and a Boom, but the time limit for the match expired, with Cole demanding five more minutes. MJF would slide out of the ring however, turning down the challenge.
