AEW Collision’s Success Pivotal To Upcoming AEW Television Rights Negotiations
AEW Collision is an incredibly important leap of faith from AEW.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Collision’s success will be an important topic regarding AEW’s upcoming TV rights negotiations with Warner Bros Discovery. Collision is set to premiere this Saturday in Chicago, with a stacked lineup.
It’s adding a successful second two-hour show that will be the key in negotiating a new rights deal, which most likely will be done early next year, since it’s expected WBD will be picking up the option year for AEW. The option year was contracted for a significant price increase, but nowhere near numbers thrown around a few weeks ago. This option year would be up at the end of September 2024.

We will have to wait and see how Collision will sell once the first show debuts this Saturday.
