Ridge Holland says he improvised the parody of The 40 Year Old Virgin that he did earlier this year.
In the promo, the Brawling Brute parodies the waxing scene from the movie, shouting out random words with every tear.
Speaking with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Ridge revealed that he improvised all his lines in the promo.
“Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I saw it years ago. Huge fan of Steve Carell and what he does, and Paul Rudd. Huge fan,”
“That was the main thing, really. My call time was 7:30 am and the rest of the boys in the shoot were like 12:30. So I was told this hair would take upwards of three or four hours to put on. I got there, it took forty five minutes to put the hair on. Bear in mind there’s other things being shot, so I’m stood in the canteen or the catering area, no shirt on, horrible Steve Carell dad jeans and this wooly mammoth-esque chest. People are walking through the thing. I’m sat down. Obviously, I’m not that inconspicuous as it is and they’re looking at me like, ‘Who’s this hairy guy with terrible jeans on sat down in catering?,”
“What people won’t know is that shoot when we got to the nitty gritty in shooting that, everything was adlibbed. Everything that came out of my mouth was just off the cuff. The same for Sheamus and Drew. It was just good fun. It was nice to be able to go out there and not have any parameters and just let loose, really. It was one of the highlights of the year, to be honest. Good fun,”

Holland is still part of the Brawling Brutes on SmackDown. We will have to wait and see if Holland’s comedy skills will come in handy in the future.
