Wardlow defended against Christian Cage’s monster on the debut episode of AEW Collsion.
Early on in the match, Christian would make his presence known by grabbing the boot of Wardlow, allowing Luchasaurus to take over in the early stages of the matchup.
Kevin Kelly would note on commentary that Arn Anderson could not be in attendance due to his injuries as Luchsaurus continued to hold an advantage over the champion. Eventually, Wardlow would break the dominant streak with a thumb bite, along with a huge lariat. He would then hit a huge powerbomb to Luchasaurus but would go for another, with the big man turning it around with a chokeslam for a near fall.
Wardlow would then hit a powerslam followed by a beautiful swanton, with Christian then getting involved in the match, hitting Wardlow with a camera multiple times with the refs back turned, handing the victory to Luchasaurus .
After the match, Luchasaurus would hoist Christian on to his shoulders while he held the championship high.
