IMPACT Wrestling Star Moose Explains Why The Company Won’t Build The Company Around One Person

A few days ago, Moose took to his social media Twitter account to reveal that he had just signed a new contract with IMPACT Wrestling, in what he called ”the longest deal anyone has signed in company history.”

WWE has Roman Reigns and Bianca Bel-Air, who lost her WWE Women’s Title recently; All Elite Wrestling has MJF & Jade Cargill recently lost her AEW TBS Title after over 500 days as champion.

While appearing on “The Undisputed Podcast,” newly re-signed star, Moose, explained why IMPACT Wrestling knows the promotion can’t afford to do similar things (building their company around one talent) with their stars.

“As you know in pro wrestling, everybody can’t be on the top forever,” Moose told Bobby Fish. “I mean there’s only one man that’s doing it, and that’s Roman Reigns, right? But if you’re not Roman Reigns, that’s not real life in pro wrestling.”

Moose is a former Impact World Champion, a reign that lasted 182 days before Josh Alexander ended it at Rebellion in April 2022. At the moment, though, there is nothing specific waiting for him on the horizon, but he reflected on his championship stint.

“I had my eight-month run as the World Champion,” Moose continued. “And, it was just a good run. It was a pretty good run.”

Ever since losing the title, the 39-year-old’s focus has shifted to helping get some of the younger talents over, after all that’s what comes with the territory when most wrestlers aren’t in Impact for a long time.

“I feel like a lot of people’s time in Impact Wrestling is not always long-term,” Moose admitted. “They can’t always build the company around you and have you be on top forever, you know what I’m saying? It has to be a rotating ship.”

On that same interview, Moose touched on part of what went into his decision to re-sign with the company when he revealed that he’s very shy.

“That’s also my big scare with ever going to a new company or ever going somewhere else, making new friends. I am really shy when it comes to getting to know people or being cool with people,” he said to “The Undisputed Podcast.” “I am usually to myself. I have always been shy. Every time it comes to leaving Impact, that’s always a big factor in my decision-making.”

Prior to revealing that he had signed a new deal with IMPACT, Moose took to his social media Twitter account to let us know that he will be making his decision based on “happiness, comfort, & trust”; he then goes on to say that….”money, big arenas, and dream matches aren’t everything.”

Moose has been apart of two consecutive #1 contender matches for the IMPACT World Title, both at Under Siege in a 6 way match, and at Against All Odds as part of a 8-4-1 match, where 2 teams of 4 start out fighting each other, and then the winning team all become opposition. Moose has fallen short both times.

Moose has been teasing teaming up with Brian Myers to go after the IMPACT Tag Team Titles, while they’re scheduled to team up and take on Sami Callihan & Rich Swann this weekend at the Summer Sizzler TV tapings in Atlanta, Georgia.
