SANADA Doesn’t Know Who Jack Perry Is, Was Expecting A Bigger Challenger At Forbidden Door

Back on June 15th, the current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion issued an open challenge for the upcoming AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event. That open challenge was eventually answered by Jack Perry.

SANADA seemingly expressed his disappointment in his Forbidden Door challenger while speaking with Tokyo Sports recently. SANADA indicated he was expecting a bigger challenger and doesn’t know who Jack Perry is. He also pointed out that he feels the IWGP title is worth more than the AEW championship:

“I have no knowledge of Jack Perry. It’s sad to see someone like that challenge the IWGP. Is an open challenge really that easy to decide? It’s the IWGP. I think it’s worth more than the AEW belt,”

SANADA also pointed out as last years IWGP World Title match was a fatal fourway and the AEW fans haven’t seen a real IWGP Title match yet:

“I don’t think AEW fans have watched the real IWGP fight live yet. It’s always a special one-of-a-kind.”

AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door is set for Sunday June 25th from Toronto, Ontario and will be available on to view live on PPV.
