Bryan Danielson Expects To Be Out Of Action For A Month Or Two With Fractured Forearm Suffered At Forbidden Door
Bryan Danielson will not be in action anytime soon after AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2023.
During the Forbidden Door media scrum, Danielson would reveal that he and the staff believe he suffered a fractured forearm in the main event against Kazuchika Okada. Danielson said he would be sidelined for six to eight weeks.
Danielson would go on to submit the Japanese pro wrestling legend to end the show in shock for fans in the building despite the injury he suffered moments prior.
“I was planning on wrestling on Wednesday this week. I don’t think that’s going to happen because, in this specifically, we think I fractured my right forearm with about ten minutes left to go. Talking to our doctors, and I love the AEW medical staff and trainers, they think it’s going to be six to eight weeks for this specific injury. The stuff after Revolution and the Iron Man match with Max, I had a torn labrum and then some compressed vertebrae. That’s normal wrestler stuff. I’m fine. We just thought, for a precautionary measure,” he said.
Danielson said that he knew he felt something during the match but wanted to keep himself pushing through to finish the bout. He was seen favoring his right arm later on in the match. Danielson noted that the injury occurred when Okada landed the top rope elbow, and Danielson didn’t have his elbow in a safe space, he revealed.
