The newly crowned IWGP United States Champion Will Ospreay has indicated that he would love to set up a huge NJPW vs. Pro Wrestling NOAH match between himself and Naomichi Marufuji.
Will Ospreay was speaking at the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door Post Show Media Scrum and had these comments regarding a potential match with Naomichi Marufuji:
“I want to throw this out there while the conversation is on ‘best in the world.’ I have taken so much from a man that I completely respect and admire. I hold him to the highest regards. In September, he’s celebrating his 25th anniversary of being a pro wrestler. I’ve just got to say it; he was my idol growing up. I would love to be in the ring with Naomichi Marufuji, if that was possible. The ball is in NOAH’s court. I think we can work something out.”
Naomichi Marufuji will be celebrating his 25th anniversary as a professional wrestler with a huge show at Korakeun Hall on September 17th.
Pro Wrestling NOAH and NJPW have worked together many times in the past and a match between Will Ospreay and Naomichi Marufuji is a distinct possibility.
