IMPACT Wrestling Results: July 6th
—Eddie Edwards (w/Alisha) vs Frankie Kazarian
Eddie wins when Alisha whacks Kazarian with the kendo stick and then Eddie nails Kazarian with Boston Knee Party.
We see a recap of last week where Lio Rush attacked Chris Sabin and ended up standing tall over Chris while holding his title belt up high.
Lio Rush comments on the clip of his actions from last week. Lio says he’s not here to make friends, he’s just here to win the X Division Title. Nick Aldis steps in and says Lio didn’t need to step into his business last week, but that they need to focus on the matchup tonight and not underestimate their opponents tonight.
Elsewhere backstage, Frankie Kazarian is heated and says they weren’t trained to win the way Eddie won tonight. Frankie challenges Eddie to a match at Slammiversary, but says he will have his wife – former TNA/IMPACT Knockouts, Traci Brooks – in his corner for the match.
—Sami Callihan & Rich Swann vs TBA. The TBA ends up being Champagne Singh & Shera.
Sami hits Singh with the Cactus Driver 97, while Rich Swann simultaneously hits a face kick to Singh. Sami picks up the victory for his team.
We go backstage to Moose and Brian Myers watching Sami Callihan &’Rich Swann win their match on the monitor. Myers says they’re the best team In the IMPACT Tag Title match set for Slammiversary.
We go to a clip of BTI earlier tonight where Santino comes out yelling at Dirty Dango who’s in the ring. Heath sneaks up from behind and nails Dango with a Wake Up Call.
We see a new promo from Dango where he talks about old wrestling that he likes, and addresses Santino as well. Dango also addresses Heath, suggests Heath should try another line of work where he doesn’t need to sneak up behind people to get the job done.
—Alan Angels (w/Deaner & Big Kon) vs Jonathan Gresham
Gresham taps out Angels with the Octopus Stretch. Post-match, Gresham extends his hand for Angels to shake. Deaner is fuming on the outside and tells him not to shake Gresham’s hand. Deaner slides into the ring and confronts Angels. Deaner shoves Angels and Angels gets into Deaner’s face. Angels turns around and shakes Gresham’s hand before leaving the ring with Gresham. Deaner is pissed off in the ring.
We go backstage to ABC talking about their Tag Title defense at Slammiversary and how they’ve taken down every team who’s gotten in their way. The Rascalz interrupt, and say they want to be part of the Title match at Slammiversary. Wentz proposes he take on Chris Bey next week, and if he wins the Rascalz get added to the match.
IMPACT aired a lengthy recap of their Australia Down Under Tour, including visits to a petting zoo and a press conference.
Trinity went to seek out Deonna Purrazzo to thank her for helping her last week when she helped Trinity. Deonna says neither of them needs the others help. Deonna announced an open challenge next week to anybody on the current Knockouts roster.
PCO comes out with Scott D’Amore escorting him out to the ring, and then sits down at the commentary table.
—PCO defats the Good Hands with a PCO-sault off the top rope to John Skyler.
Scott celebrates with PCO in the ring.
Jason Hotch comes into the ring and starts poking Scott. Hotch slaps Scott, and then eats a Sky High off the ropes. Scott previously nailed Hotch with a Canadian Destroyer at the LIVE Sacrifice event back in March of this year. Scott calls for and sets Hotch up for the Destroyer again, this time he’s interrupted by Bully Ray.
PCO and Scott turn their attention to Bully, while Maclin comes up from behind. Maclin low blows PCO and then nails Scott with a chair.
Maclin pulls out a pair of handcuffs and uses them to subdue Scott to the ropes. Maclin grabs a table from underneath the ring and sets it up. Maclin and Bully both chokeslam PCO through the table. Both men grab PCO with Scott still handcuffed to the ropes. Bully throws PCO down ramp to the lower level of Center Stage.
Maclin pours battery acid down PCO’s throat. Bully douses PCO in lighter fluid and then lights him on fire. PCO runs away screaming and on fire.
Scott runs backstage looking for PCO, asking if anybody had seen him.
We go back to the ring to Gisele Shaw coming out for her match. Shaw has Savannah Evans & Jai Vidal at her side. Courtney Rush makes her way out with Jessicka at her side.
—Shaw wins after Evans caused a distraction, Jessicka takes her out, and then Jai Vidal causes another distraction. Shaw gets her feet onto the top ropes for leverage as she picks up the victory off a roll up pin.
Kenny King & Sheldon Jean are walking about backstage, King giving Jean some tips. Multiple people approach Kenny about getting a photo after his video was played last week. Hendry shows up and Jean says they can beat him down any time. Yuya Uemura shows up out of nowhere to even the odds. Kenny and Jean walk away.
Tom Hannifan runs down the matches match for Slammiversary as well as the matches set for next week.
—Nick Aldis & Lio Rush defeat the Motor City Machine Guns when Rush nails Sabin with the FINAL HOUR from the top rope.
