Timothy Thatcher credits Bryan Danielson wanting to wrestle him for his AEW appearance.
Timothy Thatcher came to AEW in February to face Bryan Danielson in one of the several matches Danielson would have to win to earn an AEW World Title shot against champion MJF.
This was a big moment for Thatcher post WWE, and he had to put his travel for the appearance together at the last minute.
Speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Thatcher explained how the appearance came about.
“AEW, that was literally out of the blue,” said Thatcher. “It happened because Bryan Danielson wanted to wrestle me. For me, that was reason enough to fly from Tokyo to Dayton, Ohio for a day and back.”

Thatcher would lose in his All Elite Wrestling debut, but fans praised him for putting on a technical wrestling showcase alongside Danielson.
