I’ve Always Dreamed Of Winning The WWE Title, But As A Tag Team Wrestler, You Can’t Do That, Says Montez Ford
Montez Ford aims to win the world championship someday.
Since joining the main roster in 2019, The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) have held both the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships. The tandem lost the SmackDown Tag Team Championship in January 2021 and has yet to reclaim it. Ford is widely regarded as a potential breakout singles star, but he and Dawkins have remained together, even after Ford competed alone in the WWE Elimination Chamber for the United States Championship at WWE Elimination Chamber 2023.
Ford stated in an interview with Jordan Mendoza for USA TODAY Sports that his current goal is to keep chasing the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship alongside Dawkins. Ford, on the other hand, stated that he would be ready for a singles opportunity because he wants to do it all.
“As a kid, I’ve always had a dream to become WWE champion, and you can’t do that as a tag team wrestler. You can be a part of a tag team, but it’s just me out there. That’s always been a dream of mine, and that’s one of the things I’m always looking forward to, training for,”

During the interview, Ford’s wife, Bianca Belair, stated that they want to be champions at the same time. Belair was defeated by Asuka for the Raw Women’s Championship at WWE Night of Champions 2023.
Angelo Dawkins has stated that he does not believe The Street Profits need to split up in order to achieve big things.
Ford and Dawkins got into a car with Bobby Lashley on the July 14 episode of WWE SmackDown after he indicated he wanted to talk.
