AEW Dynamite: 7/19/2023 Preview

A three-match show, today’s episode of Dynamite emanates from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. A burgeoning rivalry for a championship will be contested as the finals for the Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament climaxes. Lastly, the titular match of a match beyond human capability occurs. This is Dynamite!

FTW Champion HOOK vs Jack Perry

The former Jurassic Express member vies for his former ally’s title, the orange FTW belt that is carried by Taz’s son HOOK. Perry aims to rectify all these years of stagnation as the only pillar of the company who hasn’t won a title, but HOOK has been hurt in more ways than one, and he aims to make Luke Perry’s son know the meaning of anguish.

AEW World Champion MJF & Adam Cole vs Sammy Guevara & Daniel Garcia (Blind Eliminator)

The alliance of Cole and MJF has been one that has won over fans quickly, like Sami Zayn when he joined The Bloodline last year. We all hope they stick together, but beings they just had a feud, it’s hard telling. Erstwhile, the shifted dynamic of Guevara and Garcia continues as the latter seeks to become more like Jericho and Guevara wishes to distance himself. Hopefully they can continue to coexist as well as they can, lest they suffer the fate of a Double Clothesline.

The Golden Elite vs The Blackpool Combat Club (Blood and Guts Match)

Credit: AEW

Quartets with official fifth members, The Elite finds themselves backed up by Kenny Omega’s Golden Lover in Kota Ibushi in a cage with two rings against The Blackpool Combat Club and PAC. While I hope Ibushi sticks around with the company (hello Death by Dishonor ROH World Championship Match?), I also wonder if PAC will join the ranks of the BCC altogether. A wondrous dynamic of one of the industry’s top feuds, this is sure to be chaotic and fun, despite William Regal not being around to shout the name of the match stipulation. Either way, war is divine, war is holy, war is God and tonight the collection plate demands heavy sacrifice in payment.

While other matches, promos, and segments may be added, this is the bulk of the show, and it is an exciting one, for sure. So much meat for so little scheduled. Who knows, maybe more surprises await on such a show as heavy as this.

Catch AEW: Dynamite tonight at 8ᴘᴍ ET/ 7ᴘᴍ CT on TBS.
