Kris Statlander Explains Why She Uses Sign Language On AEW Television
Kris Statlander explains something she does while on screen in All Elite Wrestling.
During every entrance and after almost every matchup she competes in, Kris Statlander uses sign language, something that certainly resonates with hard of hearing or deaf wrestling fans.
Appearing on High Spots Sign It Live, Statlander was asked if there was a story behind her using sign language.
“There is not a story. I just thought it would be cool and different. I’m not fluent in it, but I do know some basic sentences and stuff. I just thought it would be something different and you don’t see it often. That’s really all there is to it. I don’t know anyone that is deaf. I didn’t really have a reason to learn it,”

Statlander competed on Friday’s AEW Rampage, defending her TBS Championship against Marina Shafir successfully.
