Exclusive: Indy Sensation Junior Benito: I Would Thrive In Impact Wrestling’s X Division, Would Love To Be Part Of A Team Canada Reboot
Indy sensation Junior Benito, who is based out of Ottawa, Ontario, has been having an incredible 2023 which has carried over from his great 2022. He has made appearances for AEW, GCW, Limitless Wrestling, International Wrestling Syndicate, C4 Wrestling, Beyond Wrestling and many more. Benito has been in the ring with top stars including Jeff Cobb, Alex Shelley, Josh Alexander, Wheeler Yuta, Nick Wayne, Jordan Oliver and Alec Price.
Pro Wrestling Illustrated named Benito as one of its top prospects for 2023 in it’s latest issue. He currently holds the APW Provincial Title for Acclaim Pro Wrestling.
Junior Benito joined Bodyslam.net’s Lewis Carlan on The Alliance Pro Wrestling Network YouTube channel for a special interview in which they discussed numerous topics.
Benito was asked about IMPACT Wrestling and if he felt he could thrive in the X Division:
Definitely, I think the X Division is a platform where you get an opportunity to show out no matter who it is your in the ring against. Your opponents get to show out as well. Guys like Speedball Mike Bailey is a prime example of you can just get thrown in there and Speedball is a monster, let’s get that out there. If you’re great or good or anywhere in between you’ll get to showcase your abilities if you’re in the X division because they give you the time, they give you the opportunity all you got to do is perform. Speedball took that and brought it all the way to the Mountaintop. He’s been X Division Champ, he’s won Ultimate X a few times he’s done his thing. I know if I get that opportunity I’ll definitely I’ll shine for sure.
Junior Benito was asked if he has had any contact with IMPACT Wrestling:
I don’t want to say it has happened and I don’t want to say it didn’t. I’d like to keep that under the carpet for now.
Benito was asked if he would want to be part of a Team Canada reboot:
Definitely and imagine if that was led by a guy who’s a Canadian Legend, I don’t want to throw a name out there but imagine Josh Alexander. I’ve only worked with him once and I’ve haven’t met up with him since that day but I’d love to work with him if I could, against him or as partners or him as my leader in some sense. That would be wonderful.
