The Elite Agreed To Stick Together Regardless Of If They Signed With WWE Or AEW
The Elite are back together and wanted to stay together, regardless of where they would end up.
In the last few months, reports have been circulating of serious interest from WWE in The Elite, as their AEW contracts were nearing the window of expiring. However, as it was announced yesterday, The Elite have re-signed with All Elite Wrestling.
Dave Meltzer reported on the latest episode of The Wrestling Observer Radio that the faction decided that wherever they ended up, they would end up there together.
“The 4 guys had made a pact that they were going to stick together. — It had gone back & forth, — But they all had agreed that they were gonna go together as a group, either to WWE, or stay (in AEW) as a group, so it was not gonna be a split up.”
“If these guys thought that WWE was going to make an offer substantially better, you know, they’d listen. WWE could not legally make an offer — But WWE did have interest in all of them, especially Omega, they had great interest in Omega in particular”
Dave Meltzer
The Elite were back in action on Wednesday’s edition of AEW Dynamite, facing off with Satnam Singh, Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett in trios action.
