WWE Viewed Kenny Omega As A Top Guy, Sees Seth Rollins As Best In Ring Wrestler Even If He Had Signed With The Company

WWE had significant interest in signing Kenny Omega.

Omega, who signed a new deal with AEW recently, has always had his admirers in WWE due to his incredible feats inside a wrestling ring. However, it seems WWE did not see him as a viable long term option physically.

It was noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE had plans for Kenny Omega to work the main event in the company but would have viewed Seth Rollins as the best wrestler in the company.

“One person with knowledge of WWE’s interest has noted to us that while Omega was top talent who would have been used as a top guy, in the mix with the likes of Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar level guys, that because of long-term physical durability that they believed Rollins as the role of the best in-ring wrestler in the company had more time in that role than Omega would have.”

Seth Rollins is currently scheduled to defend his World Heavyweight Championship this Saturday when he goes one on one with Finn Balor at SummerSlam.
