AJPW Star Suwama Buys Ticket To August 13th DDT Pro Event, Says He Will Confront Jun Akiyama
Suwama will be invading DDT Pro-Wrestling this Sunday.
All Japan Pro-Wrestling Superstar Suwama told Tokyo Sports that he has purchased a ticket to the August 13th DDT Pro-Wrestling event at Korakuen Hall with the full intention of confronting Jun Akiyama.
The issue Suwama currently has with former AJPW president Jun Akiyama is Akiyama had agreed to wrestle in a Explosion Death Match on September 9th despite speaking out against such matches for many years.
Suwama, who is currently on the AJPW Board of Directors, took great exception to that and sharply criticized Akiyama. Back in 2017, Suwama was scheduled to participate in an Explosion Death Match but then AJPW president and Suwama’s boss Jun Akiyama objected fiercely which created anger in both stars.
Akiyama was quoted by Tokyo Sports in response to Suwama’s sharp criticism of his upcoming Explosion Death Match::
Right now, I’m not the president of All Japan or anything, but the president (Sanshiro Takagi) is bowing to me as a player, so it’s only natural that I should do it. More than that, All Japan right now are doing electric current blasting matches, so stop it first and then complain.
On August 13th, Jun Akiyama is set to team Yukio Naya & Yusuke Okada in six man action against Kazusada Higuchi, Yuki Ishida & Takeshi Masada. It will be very interesting to see how Suwama will inject himself in the match as he fully intends to confront Jun Akiyama.
