Midway through tonight’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Edge made his way to the ring in a previously unadvertised appearance.
Earlier on in the show, Edge’s 25th anniversary was announced for next week in Toronto. This week, the blue brand was in Calgary, but that didn’t stop the crowd from welcoming him all the same.
Edge would take a microphone and told the crowd they couldn’t boo Toronto, joking with the crowd. Edge would simply state that he wants to have a match with someone he has never had a match with. Edge named Sheamus as someone he wanted to wrestle. He would share the moment when he realized he could wrestle again, which was due to Sheamus.
Edge would then note Sheamus would help prepare him for his WWE return. At that point, the Brawling Brutes and Sheamus made their way to the ring. Then, Sheamus would show the footage of Edge falling from a bike while mountain biking.
Sheamus would then detail a story where he approached Edge in 2004, before confirming that he wants the match with Edge next week in Toronto.
