At the August 13th NJPW G1 Climax 33 Finals event which took place at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Pro Wrestling NOAH superstar Kaito Kiyomiya teamed with NJPW Young Lion Ryohei Oiwa as they defeated Toru Yano and Oskar Leube in the opening match. This was the fourth time the two teamed together on the G1 Climax 33 tour and it was their first victory.
Oiwa must have made an impression on the Pro Wrestling NOAH star as Kiyomiya asked him to join Pro Wrestling NOAH.
Ryohei Oiwa gave this answer to Kaito Kiyomiya:
Thank you for giving me the chance. I also feel the same way as Kiyomiya-san. I promise one thing to New Japan fans, I don’t know when it will be, but I will definitely come back to this ring stronger
It appears the Ryohei Oiwa will be heading on his excursion but will remain in Japan and join the Pro Wrestling NOAH roster. Traditionally, NJPW Young Lions heading on excursion go to the USA, UK or Mexico.
