Randy Orton Intends To Return To The Ring Despite Doctor’s Concerns
Randy Orton may be on the way back to the ring after all after suffering a serious back injury last year.
Orton has been out of action since then due to a back injury that required serious surgery to repair. In recent months, it has been shared that Orton’s doctors had told him to not return to the ring, even if he physically would be cleared for action in the future.
Fightful Select has now provided an update on Orton’s status with regards to returning to the ring for WWE. It seems Orton is intending on making a comeback, but is not factored into creative plans.
Sources within WWE creative said that as of this past week, Randy Orton had not been factored into WWE creative plans whatsoever.
We’ve heard that he’s not yet cleared for in-ring training or action, and those we’ve spoken to say that there hasn’t been an extensive conversation about what the plans will be for Orton. As of now, before in-ring training resumes, Orton is planning to make a return to the ring. However, a lower back fusion isn’t typical among pro wrestlers and is uncharted territory for many. Doctors have told Orton that wrestling in the future isn’t a good idea, but he still plans on it. He has resumed lifting, and we’ve told he’s “huge” as a result.

Orton is currently one of the highest paid WWE superstars in the company, so he would have no issue retiring with his current net worth. However, passion in a professional wrestling can sometimes overtake the monetary desire to continue their career.
