Tetsuya Naito Wins the NJPW G1 Climax 33
Tetsuya Naito has won the G1 Climax 33 tournament defeating Kazuchika Okada in the August 13th finals. Naito hit two straight Destino’s to put Okada away and claim victory. The pro Naito crowd at Ryogoku Kokugikan, who were chanting his name throughout the bout, erupted when Naito finally won the match which lasted over 30 minutes.

Kazuchika Okada was attempting to win his third G1 Climax tournament in a row but was denied that accomplished by Naito.
Naito was the winner of the D Block and defeated Hikuleo in the quarterfinals and Will Ospreay in the semifinals to earn a spot in the finals.
Tetsuya Naito will now go on to Wrestle Kingdom 18 on January 4, 2024 and challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Title which is currently held by SANADA.
