Chelsea Green Says She Will Remain Acting Extra Despite Being Told To Tone It Down
Chelsea Green isn’t going to change how she acts.
Currently still one half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Green returned at the 2023 Royal Rumble and set a record for the fastest elimination in Women’s Rumble history.
Since then, she has been one of the top heels, teaming with Sonya Deville and capturing the tag titles earlier this summer. Fans have fell in love with Green’s Karen gimmick which seems to get even more extra every week, something that we now know is intentional.
Speaking on WWE After The Bell, Green was asked how she’s found herself since returning to WWE.
“I just, so badly, wanted them to let me be me. Let me be my authentic self in the form of coming up with characters, coming up with my own promos and punchlines. I didn’t get that freedom my first run. Maybe that’s because when they gave me an inch, I didn’t take the mile. This time, it was all that’s raw. What’s the worst that can happen? I’m released? I’ve had that happen, that already happened. I’m not afraid anymore. I’m not afraid to try something ridiculous because the worst they can do is say, ‘stop being so extra, let’s reel it in,’ which they told me week after week, and I still do it. I still am the most. I didn’t do that the first time. Now, I’m realizing that I’m at a point in my career where they can tell me that I was wrong after I did it,”

Green remains one half of the tag champions despite Sonya Deville’s recent torn ACL injury.
Time will tell what changes for Green in the coming weeks but she has no intention in toning down her character.
