Hikaru Shida wants a champion vs champion matchup that would also feature the Ring Of Honor Women’s World Champion, Athena.
Shida captured the AEW Women’s World Title for the second time earlier this month when she dethroned former champion Toni Storm at AEW Dynamite 200. Now, she will look to defend that title at AEW All In on August 27th when she takes on three other women at Wembley Stadium.
In an interview with Ella Jay for SEScoops, Shida was asked who she would like to face in her second reign as women’s world champion and Shida immediately chose Ring Of Honor Women’s World Champion Athena.
“Yeah, actually, I have one name. It’s Athena. We had just one single at SHIMMER. It was a long time ago, but I really love that much. I’m watching her for a long time, of course, in AEW but before when she was in the other company, I saw her long time and always she’s good. So yeah, I believe in this reign I wrestle her. I really want to,”

We will have to wait and see if Shida can walk out of All In still the champion and if her attention will shift to making this match with Athena happen.
Recently Hikaru also noted that she wants more promo time in her second reign as AEW Women’s World Champion.
