Pro Wrestling NOAH Star AMAKUSA Out Indefinitely With Injury
Pro Wrestling NOAH announced today that former GHC Jr Heavyweight Champion AMAKUSA will be out of action indefinitely due to an injury suffered during the first round of the GHC Junior Tag Team Championship Number One Contender event on August 10th. Despite the injury, AMAKUSA finished the match that saw the team of Atsushi Kotege and Hi69 defeat AMAKUSA and his partner Junta Miyawaki.
After an examination of the injury AMAKUSA was diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. There is no timetable for his return.
AMAKUSA commented apologetically to the fans on NOAH’s YouTube Channel:
I’m really sorry that unfortunately, I won’t be able to return to the front line soon. I am ashamed of the weakness that caused such a big injury, and I take it very seriously. First of all, I would like to sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart, to all of you who have been waiting for my match. However, my name is AMAKUSA, and my passion for Noah Junior, is burning hotter now. Even during the period of healing this injury, I hope that you will give me some time, so that I can focus only on that lofty sky, fly even higher than before, and return to the front line. (AMAKUSA bowed) My beloved Noah Junior, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued support.
AMAKUSA won the GHC Jr Heavyweight Title on December 23rd 2022 and held it until April 16th 2023 when he dropped the belt to current champion HAYATA.
Everyone here at Bodyslam.net wishes a speedy recovery for AMAKUSA.
