Deonna Purrazzo is on a quest to regain the IMPACT Knockouts World Title.
Purrazzo tapped out – for the first time in her IMPACT career – to Trinity at Slammiversary and lost the Knockouts World Title.
The celebration, however, was short lived for Trinity. On the 7/27 episode of IMPACTonAXSTV, Trinity and Dani Luna defeated The Coven, and Trinity were excited about their victory. Before long, Deonna Purrazzo made her way out to the ring and told Trinity that she’d be cashing in her contractual rematch at the LIVE IMPACT Emergence show on 8/27.
A few days ago, Deonna Purrazzo laid out a challenge for Multiverse United to Giulia, only to be interrupted by Gisele Shaw who also challenged for the NJPW Strong Women’s Title. Stardom talent Momo Kohgo interjected herself into the equation and said she wants a shot at well. No match has been made official, but if it’s going to happen it will be this Sunday 8/20 at the IMPACT x NJPW Multiverse United 2 event.
On the latest episode of the Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast, Deonna Purrazzo was asked to name what she’s most excited to see at the Emergence event.
“Of course I’m going to say myself vs. Trinity for the Knockouts World Championship, but I’m really excited to see Josh Alexander return to in-ring competition. He’s [also] returning to in-ring competition in Canada, how could you not be excited about that? I’m a big Josh Alexander fan, I’m an even bigger Jet Alexander fan.”

Josh Alexander has been out of IMPACT since late match with a torn biceps injury. His timetable was unknown. Josh returned to the company when he showed up following the IMPACT World Title match at Slammiversary, and told Alex Shelley that he’s back. It would be the following weekly episode that he would reveal that he’s “100% cleared for in-ring activity.”
Josh made it known to World Champion Alex Shelley that he’s coming after the IMPACT World Title that he never lost. Before they could agree to the match, both were interrupted by a flurry of other people claiming their stake in the matter.
Josh is teaming up with the Time Machine (Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Kushida) to take on Bully Ray, Lio Rush, Moose, and Brian Myers at Emergence in front of Josh’s hometown Toronto crowd at the Rebel Complex.
