Lacey Evans’ Lack Of TV Time Was Due To Vince McMahon No Longer Being Major Part Of Creative Team
Lacey Evans was set for a big push, right up until Vince McMahon retired.
Evans’ WWE contract expired earlier this week, with her quietly exiting the company after several repackages and pushes in WWE over the last couple of years. Evans has been having a rough couple of years in WWE. With her pushes seeming stop-start in nature, she has gone under several repackages with no luck.
During the latest “Wrestling Observer Radio,” Dave Meltzer weighed in with what possibly led to her departure from WWE.
“I remember when she was in ‘NXT’ and she was brought to the main roster, she had that giant push at first,” Meltzer recalled. “She got the real big push at first. Then she would get the weekly vignettes and not a push at all. It was the craziest thing ever. But a lot of her lack of exposure had to do with Vince being gone because Vince was her proponent.”

Earlier this year, Evans was caught up in an ableist controversy where she suggested several learning disorders were modern inventions. Evans has also been under fire from SGT. Slaughter as of late, with the former WWE superstar criticizing the women’s superstar for her usage of his gimmick and finishing move.
With her WWE exit, Evans plans to open up her own diner.
