Jack Perry Credits Frustration With Fans And Co-Workers For His Heel Persona
Jack Perry discusses his heel turn.
Jack Perry and Rob Van Dam faced off in an FTW Rules title match on August 9th edition of AEW Dynamite, with Perry coming away with the victory in the matchup. Perry will next defend the title on Sunday’s All In card vs HOOK.
Before this however, Perry turned heel back at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door when he laid out HOOK after his match with IWGP World Champion SANADA.
Speaking to Muscle & Fitness, Perry discussed his heel turn.
“I certainly felt that it was time for a change, and I’ve kind of been waiting on that change for a while. And, honestly, a lot of it kind of grew through real frustrations that I guess I was having in the workplace, but also with certain wrestling fans. I feel it’s kind of split down the middle. So, a lot of wrestling fans are the best fans you’ll ever find, and a lot of them are just very ungrateful and cynical, and kind of just looking for a reason to talk s**t about people, and I felt like over time I’d been getting fed up,”

We will have to wait and see if Perry will be able to retain the FTW Championship during Sunday’s show.
