Following the calamitous incident at 2022’s All Out event, tensions have been uneasy for some with CM Punk still on the roster. Many actions taken before and since have polarized both the locker room and the fanbase, and one such instance of division sparked from recent CM Punk comments towards “Hangman” Adam Page on a recent episode of AEW Collision on August 12, 2023 in North Carolina’s Greensboro Colliseum.
“Carolina is Hangman country? Earlier today, I went to a local supermarket and I figured out why they call him Hangman. It’s because the pegs in the toy aisle are full of Hangman action figures because nobody wants to buy them. He’s a peg warmer, unlike me, who moves merchandise, pops ratings, sells toys. You got everybody in AEW saying, ‘I’m the heart, I’m the soul, I’m the spirit.’ Well, that’s objective, what’s a fact is the people who say that certainly aren’t the chin of AEW because the lights go out faster than, what? GTS, Go to sleep.”

This quote caused such a stir that it has seen discipline, as reported by PWInsider.com, who have reported the following:

CM Punk is currently the subject of further strife in the locker room after an altercation with Jack Perry at the AEW All In event with many left frustrated.
