Go Shiozaki: If I Don’t Win The N-1, NOAH Won’t Be Able To Move Forward
On September 3rd in Osaka, the N-1 VICTORY 2023 Tournament will come to a conclusion as the A Block winner Kenoh will go one on one with B Block winner Go Shiozaki in the championship finals.
Go Shiozaki is looking to win his first N-1 VICTORY Tournament since it’s inception in 2010. Shiozaki was injured in Osaka one year ago and wound up missing eight months before returning in May 2023. Should Shiozaki win on September 3rd, it would mark his biggest accomplishment since his return from injury and one of the biggest of his career as winning the N-1 has eluded him.
To get to the finals, Go Shiozaki had to get past both his AXIZ partner Katsuhiko Nakajima and then Manabu Soya in playoff match on the same night.
Speaking with Pro Wrestling DX, Shiozaki had words for Kenoh as well as the N-1 Finals:
This has become a reality and I have a championship match against Kenoh, so I have no choice but to win. I think my N-1 was up until that point. I want to take Kenoh’s head. I AM NOAH. If I don’t win, I think Noah itself won’t be able to move forward. In order to make Osaka a better city for me, I would like to make September 3rd my anniversary (of his 2022 injury), winning the championship after exactly one year. Noah’s face never gives up.
