Ace Steel has been released from AEW.
It has been a tumultuous couple of weeks regarding CM Punk. At AEW All In, Punk was involved in yet another backstage altercation. However, this one would be different than those in the past in various ways. Namely, Punk not only fought with Jack Perry, he also reportedly lunged at AEW president Tony Khan while furiously quitting the company.
These events would leave Khan no other choice but to fire the Chicago native with cause, despite Punk’s drawing power and status as the companies “real world’s champion”. Punk has yet to comment on the matter.
At AEW Collision last Saturday, Tony would speak to the Chicago crowd directly and took on a great amount of heat from the crowd.
PWInsider now reports that earlier today, Punk’s mentor Ace Steel was released from his duties in AEW also.
Ace Steel was released by AEW earlier today.
There had been talk over the last month that AEW was looking into a space in Florida for Steel to train and work with talents, but that obviously, will not come to pass now he has been released
